Banking & Transactional

HJ&S continues to build on its long history involving the representation of local, regional and national banks, savings banks, commercial mortgage brokers, loan servicing companies, insurance companies, government agencies and other financial institutions. Through the years, several members of our firm have served as general counsel and/or directors of various banking and insurance institutions.

Our practice has a high concentration in matters involving all aspects of loan origination and closing, including the preparation of loan commitment letters, preparation of loan and security documents, title review, survey examination, underwriting compliance, settlements and settlement coordination. We have assisted lenders, in conjunction with local legal counsel, in over 30 states and the District of Columbia.

The firm also represents lenders in the work-out of nonperforming loans and in foreclosure of such loans in Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia.
